Other World picks up way too slow, and is plain monotonous even then. I understand you want to create sort of a feeling of uncertainty, but those 3 sounds looping over and over just get annoying after a while. Needs something fresh.

Snow Demo is excellent, I seriously can't say anything bad about this.

Tran loop is way too far from my taste to get an objective comment on, all I can focus on is my eardrums cracking.

Transcend loop is good, but it could use some fills between two themes. Drums and bass alone don't quite keep it going.

I listen to game music usually. I have a taste in a wiiiiiide selection of music though. Sometimes I'll turn in-game music off... and throw on some KMFDM though. Or Iron Maiden, or Dragonforce. Just something to get myself into a trance of sorts.

I like game music that has nice ambience. Like Halo's music, one song was just complete tribal drum-like stuff, and I loved it.

I love the transcend loop and the other world loop...

snow demo seems way too fast in it's drums, it somewhat takes the forefront when I try to play a game to it.

Tran is the same way, very fast and full of energy, though I will admit it would be nice for main menu music, or something to that extent, if it's volume was a bit lower.

Transcend was awesome ambience in my mind, sounds very Unrealish. Other World was very heavenly, and also fits the ambience bill. When I played games to those two songs, after a while you forgot the music was even there, it was just part of the whole experience.

Techno is the only music I listen to so this stuff is right down my alley

first off, all these songs sound a little old school to me, like they are from a early video game system, I would like to see some higher fidelity and more deep notes overall

My favorite song is Tran loop, its great how it builds up, I suggests you lengthen it out into a longer song, give it some deeper and more defined base, maybe some short dramatic pauses in certain tracks, maybe slow it down and make it a little longer, add some more to it, I want to hear what happens next

Ascension Loop, I like the tune of the higher notes, maybe change their pitch and add some more complexity to that end of the song, mess around with the lower tracks some more, I hear what you are going for, you almost have it.

Snow Demo was kinda boring and predictable to me, it is very peacefull and sounds well put together, considering its length It needs some more diversity, it has a good build up near the end I think

Other World, sweet song, sounds a little too midi for my taste, good base, I like the base guitar sounding stuff near the end, maybe a little too repetitive, maybe the background notes are a little too long and annoying

Tried to provide some constructive criticism, Overall these are all entertaining to listen too, a lot better sounding than anything I am able to create

I'd have to agree with Ama's comments. That is some cool stuff anyway.

I don't use in-game music at all. I like to hear every little thing that's going on around me. Very rare to have any music playing while in game.

Id have to agree with everything n()va said (including some of the old school sound). But i especially like Tran Loop and would love to hear what a continuation of that might sound like.

On a side note. One of the first things I do when firing up a new game is to turn off the music unless it's very, very good (if it's an option). Of course this means that I turn it off if the intro/title music isn't very very good, which was the case in most games I've played so far. A notable exception being Deus Ex, which has the best music I've ever heard in a game (right click, save as). Point is, the music that plays during the intro/main menu will determine if a lot of people will turn it off right away. That is all.

Yea, if you're someone like Amadeus. Pfft...

I kid I kid. Honestly I try to give all the music in a game a listen though, to be fair.

I'd say this is pretty true... although I'm not sure about the relevance. We were discussing the music Bjra made.

So if Tran was the main menu music but tuned down a bit, would you turn the music off Amadeus?
